The 2019 Children's Hospital Colorado's Courage Classic bike ride celebrated its 30th year. More than 2,000 riders spent two fun-filled days riding mountain passes in Summit County - all to raise money for Children's Hospital Colorado.
In 2019, the event raised over $3 million for Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation.
The Durango Derailers Team has been around for 13 years and has grown from 6 riders to over 120. In 2012, the team raised over $58,000 and started a fund that specifically provides assistance with lodging and transportation for patients and families from SW Colorado as they travel to Children's Hospital for care. For the past 8 years (2012-2019), our team of riders has raised over $500,000 and we have been one of the top 10 fundraising teams for the event several years in a row!!
The ride goes for 2 days with mileage ranging from 30-100 miles with different route options each day. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, hydration, mechanical bike support and first aid is provided to all registered riders on the course. The registration fee for the ride is $100/adult and $50/child and each rider is asked to fund-raise a minimum of $500 for adult rider and $125 for child rider. We currently have sponsorship that will cover the registration fee for the first 50 riders on our team. Please reach out to Laura Shelton to learn more at LauraShelton@alpinebank.com
As a team, we come in all levels and experience of riding. We love the challenge and the inspiration of the ride.
