The Durango Derailers Team has been around for 18 years and has grown from 6 riders to over 120.  In 2012, the team raised over $58,000 and started a fund that provided assistance with lodging and transportation for patients and families from SW Colorado as they traveled to Children's Hospital Colorado for care.  In the fall of 2022, thanks to generous sponsors, donors, riders and dancers, the fundraising GREW and so did the scope of service expanding the mission to provide gas and lodging assistance for those traveling to ANY pediatric hospital or pediatric specialty location outside of SW Colorado!
